About Me
My experience is that counselling is, in many ways, a degree of the self—a journey of developing greater awareness, understanding and acceptance of who we are. My role as a counsellor is not to tell you how to live your life, but to offer a safe, respectful and non-judgemental space where you can explore your experiences, thoughts and feelings at your own pace.
I believe psychological freedom is not simply something we possess, but something we continually work towards and sustain. Through self-reflection, awareness and meaningful exploration, we can begin to understand the patterns and beliefs that may be influencing our lives and develop greater freedom in how we respond to them.
My own commitment to self-awareness is an important part of my practice. Running, cooking, meditation and mindfulness are some of the ways I maintain balance, remain grounded and continue to reflect on my own experiences. I believe that counselling requires us to continually engage with our own development, because the counsellor is also part of the therapeutic relationship.
Counselling can be an opportunity to pause, make sense of what you are experiencing, and begin to understand yourself differently. You do not have to have everything figured out before you begin. We can start from wherever you are.
Qualifications and training
B.A. (Hons) Degree in Counselling
BACP Level 5 Advanced Diploma / Foundation Degree in Counselling
BTEC Level 2 & 3 Certificate in Counselling Skills

My most recent training: Barriers to older people accessing therapy
Pause. Reflect. Explore.
I chose counselling as a profession because I value and practice listening deeply and exploring both what is said and what may remain unspoken. Through my counselling training and ongoing personal and professional development, I have developed a range of tools and approaches, which I use myself and share with clients as appropriate.
Creating a sense of calm and peace
I have practised meditation and mindfulness for many years, finding them helpful in creating calm, managing everyday pressures and developing greater self-awareness. I can offer gentle guidance to those who would like to explore these practices alongside counselling.
